ASSCSA Supports the Increased Use of Bio-fuels

In light of the long-term increase in the price of oil, the Australian Service Station and Convenience Store Association (ASSCSA) recently considered its position on the use of bio-fuels.

ASSCSA recognises the economic and environmental benefits associated with the increased use of bio-fuels and the Association supports the widespread use of bio-fuels, including ethanol, within the Australian fuel industry. ASSCSA considers however that the use of bio-fuels should be consistent with the maximum levels recommended by motor vehicle manufacturers and with Australian fuel standards.

The Association also encourages the Australian Government to continue its support of producers of bio-fuels and to retain the current fuel grant arrangements for bio-fuels.
